We like to call these lazy little lavosh crackers as they take minimal effort to create.
Simply throw all the ingredients into a bowl, mix, roll and bake for a completely plastic free snack! To be enjoyed with some sweet sweet tunes and a glass of vino. Such an easy and fail proof recipe that are moorishly addictive and eaten incredibly incredibly quickly.
This recipe should make around 40 crackers and you can order the Lavosh Cracker Mix online (with either gluten-free or standard flour), packed in paper bags with recipe instructions., or seperate ingredients in-store & online with Sprout, available via click & collect, or post.
All you need to add to the mix is: 1/4 cup Olive Oil, 1 tsp Sesame Oil, 1/2 cup Water.
- 1 cup plain flour
- ⅓ cup oat bran
- 4 tbsp seeds. We like to do a mix of white sesame, black sesame and poppy seeds.
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds (dry roasted for a few minutes until fragrant)
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ cup water
Preheat oven to 165˚C and line two oven trays with compostable baking paper or a silicon mat.
In a mixing bowl stir together the flours, sesame seeds, toasted cumin seeds and salt. Mix the oils and water together and add to the dry ingredients, stirring to form a soft, pliable dough.
Divide the dough into two pieces. Place the first piece on the pre lined baking tray. Place another piece of baking paper on top and roll out until paper thin. Remove the top layer of baking paper, and add a sprinkle of salt over the crackers.
Using a knife of a pizza cutter (great life hack), cut the crackers into any shape you like. This will help you to break the crackers into shape once cooked.
Repeat with the remaining dough on the seperate oven tray.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, turning the tray around 1/2 way. The crackers will be lightly golden and crisp when done.
Allow to cool, break into shape along your pre cut lines and enjoy!
Store in an air tight container in the pantry.
